Review: Bridge of Clay by Marcus Zusak

What an incredible book.

I had really enjoyed The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, so thought I would give Bridge of Clay a go also.   Markus does not disappoint.   I had read a few reviews, and a couple of them are quite disappointing, as this book is nothing but incredibly amazing.   It is extremely well written, it really hits you emotionally, so make sure you have a box of tissues beside you.

The story is about the Dunbar family, and their 5 boys.   The story is told by Matthew the eldest son but it is Clay's story, the 4th boy in the family whose story Matthew is telling.

It is written in multiple time lines, which could be confusing for some, but I found this extremely clever of the author, as shows that behind every story, there is a back story, a history, a reason why things happened the way they did.

I highly recommend this book to everyone, it is truly lifechanging!

5 Stars: It was amazing. It was compelling, well-researched, entertaining and/or moving and often complex. I will definitely want to read more books by this author.

Review: Me Before You by JoJo Moyes

Me Before You Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My gosh, what a book, a book that will influence your thoughts for eternity, lets you feel every emotion. This will be a book I will never forget.

The book is extremely sad, I really didn't know how I could read another book after this, without feeling like I needed to give this book a "grieving period". It was a lot to take in and digest. Finding that there was a 2nd book "After You" really helped.

Review: After You by Jojo Moyes

After You After You by Jojo Moyes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a great sequel to "Me Before You".

The first book was incredible, it will be forever imprinted on my mind, but it was a very sad story and I really had no idea what to read after the 1st book, as I felt it needed a "grieving" period. Finding this book, the sequel to the first, was a god send. It allowed me to continue Louisa's story, and follow her future with her, moving on with life after Will.

It was not as good as the first book, but the first book is very hard to top, and honestly, after the heaviness of the first book, it was nice to have something a little more refreshing.

This book was perfectly written, and I am thoroughly looking forward to reading the 3rd in the series "Still Me".
