Review: The Duke and I by Julia Quinn

The Duke and I The Duke and I by Julia Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the book that helped me rediscover my love for reading.

I had watched the Netflix series, which is a pale comparison to this wonderfully joyous, light-hearted book.

It is romantic, funny, and lighthearted. Do not try and compare it to other historical romances, it is definitely in a league of its own. The complete series is fabulous.

I look forward to re-reading it again one day.

Review: Big Little Lies by Lianne Moriarty

Big Little Lies Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a great read, very intriguing and suspenseful.

Jane is a new kindergarten parent, on her way to kindy orientation day the car in front of her stops in the middle of traffic, and this is where Jane meets Madeline, a loud, kind, heart-warming lady. Madeline befriends Jane and takes her under her wing and guides her though the life of being a Primary School Mum.

Jane is ostracised at school, because of an incident involving her son Ziggy, to the point where all the kindy kids are invited to a 5th birthday party, all of them apart from little Ziggy.

Madeline, introduces Jane to her friend Celeste and the three of them form a clique. It is these 2 ladies that help Jane survive the woes of being a school Mum.

There is however a twist, there is a death at the school, during the school trivia night to be exact, but who killed who? Was it the jealous school mums, was it the ex husband, or Step Mum. Was it the Husband who beat his beautiful wife?

This book is a great read, and very difficult to put down, I got so engrossed in this book, I stayed up to midnight to finish the book.
